Orthodontics

Straight teeth are happy teeth

At Jones Family Dental, we believe everyone should have the opportunity to get straighter, healthier teeth.

Pediatric

If problems with tooth alignment are treated early, a treatment called Early Interceptive Orthodontics can help your child avoid problems when they old.  Services include palatal expansion, space maintainers, cross-bite correction and even re-direction of erupting teeth.

Adults

For adult patients, we also offer "clear braces".  As technology has progressed, the ability to move teeth using clear aligners instead of traditional metal braces, has made it easier than ever to get straighter teeth.  At Jones Family Dental, we have the ability to 3-D print your aligners in-office.

How do they work?

Each aligner is custom-made to fit over your teeth and is designed to gradually move teeth into their proper position.  Just like traditional metal braces, clear aligners use gradual force to control tooth movement, but without any metal wires or brackets. The aligners are made with a strong plastic material that has been fabricated to fit your mouth. As treatment progresses you switch aligners every 2 weeks. Each aligner is a little different, so your teeth move a little more with every change.

Clear aligners are not for every patient and it's important that Dr. Jones evaluate your treatment needs.  If your case requires extreme tooth movement, Dr. Jones may refer you to an orthodontist for traditional bracket and wire braces.

How long do I have to wear them?

Aligners are worn for at least 20 hrs each day. The length of your treatment depends on the complexity of your case. Treatment can take anywhere from six months to two years.  One major advantage to clear aligners, however, is that they can be removed to eat, clean, and brush your teeth.
