Dental Exams & X-rays

All patients will receive our full care and attention when they come to Jones Family Dental.  During your dental exam, Dr. Jones will listen your needs and wants.  Often, digital 2-d and 3-d x-rays are taken of your teeth, jaw joints, sinuses and other structures.  Photos are taken of your teeth and oral cavity so we can track changes over time.  Sometimes, a digital mould is made of your teeth as well.  When the exam is complete, you will be able to visually see the problems as well as the solutions on a screen in front of you.  We are here to help guide you throughout the entire process.

Dental Cleanings

Dental plaque, no matter how well we brush and floss, is sometimes missed.  Overtime, the plaque calcifies and turns into a hard substance called dental calculus.  Calculus is very difficult to remove without having a trained professional remove it for you.  It is important to get your teeth cleaned every 6 months to avoid gum disease.  At your initial exam, Dr. Jones and his team will diagnosis which type of cleaning you need and answer any questions you may have.

Composite Fillings and Restorations

At Jones Family Dental, we place tooth-colored fillings called composite restorations to fix cavities.  In the past, dentists have used metal fillings to fix cavities.  While this works, the teeth often become discolored, require extensive removal of tooth structure and often, the teeth fracture later in life.  Composite fillings are bonded to teeth and are often much stronger, repairable, more esthetic and require minimal removal of tooth structure.  In addition to fillings, Dr. Jones also uses composite resins to create beautiful esthetics on your front teeth.

Consultations

Have questions about a procedure?  We are here to help.  Ask us about consultations and/or 2nd opinions

Crowns & Bridges

When teeth are cracked, badly broken down or have had a root canal, a crown is sometimes placed onto the teeth. The crown is permanently cemented onto the tooth and cannot be removed.  Crowns and bridges  are typically made of 100% porcelain and are extremely strong.  Bridges are used to replace missing teeth.  If an implant is being used to replace a missing tooth, an abutment and crown will be placed on the implant after sufficient healing has occurred.   See the videos to learn more.

Veneers/Cosmetic Procedures

Porcelain veneers are a great option when the original teeth have developed poor color, shape, and contours. They are also a good choice for fractured teeth, gaps between teeth, compromised tooth position or even for minor bite-related problems.  Sometimes, superficial stains do not respond well to tooth whitening. In these situations, a porcelain veneer may be the best option.  In addition to veneers, cosmetic changes can be accomplished with bonding resin composite to change the color, shape and orientation of your teeth.

Emergency Dental Procedures

There are few things worse than tooth pain.  Dental emergencies can range from a broken tooth, extreme pain or even rapid facial swelling.  Whatever problem you are having, don't wait to fix it.  Call today and we will do our best to fit you into the schedule.
